2017 Photography workshops by Nikos Economopoulos

2017 workshops

The workshops take place in different destinations around the world throughout the year. They are organised for a limited number of participants, both professional and amateur photographers who enjoy combining photography with the joy of the journey. The challenge is to bring out each photographer’s unique glance.

The methodology is based on editing. The participants shoot during the day and gather up for the editing meetings during the evening. Through the selection and discussion of the day’s images, the participants have the opportunity to see their technique evolve and their overall approach improve day by day. The introductory meeting is dedicated to portfolio reviews and overall planning.

Equipment: A digital camera with preferably one prime lens of the participants choice, and a computer

Travel & Accommodation: Up to each participant to arrange individually (unless otherwise indicated). We usually indicate the area where the workshop will be taking place, so that participants can chose the type of accommodation that suits their needs.

Nikos Economopoulos has been covering the Cuban transition over the last few years, and was present during the 2014 announcement that Cuban-US diplomatic relations would normalize, as well as during the 2016 Obama visit and Castro’s death. Away from the news peaks and grand historical narrative, he depicts the quiet tensions of daily life as it is lived in the back-street corners, in a country caught amidst two different temporalities. This is a work-in progress, covering the Cuban transition.
